Hard to learn a language like this but listening to the discs helps you just get ready for casual understanding. Really need to do the exercises as they indicate to learn it and it takes time.
Book is organized is a logical format. However, contrary to what it states, keep in mind that teachyourself books is not designed for the complete beginner. I recommend starting out with "10 mins a day" or barrons before using teachyourself.
Overall, the structure of the CDs and accompanying text is good! Aside from some British/English colloquialisms on the CDs, the activities and dialogues are brief and conducive to survival language appreciation. I don't think this would qualify as "Complete" language comprehension. I would recommend more dialogue examples showing differences due to gender/ subject-verb agreement, etc.
Probably my favorite of the TY series books. Well written, well organized, New vocab placed close to its introduction making sections very self-contained with minimal need to flick through the dictionary, leading to rapid progress. Content is neither exciting nor dull but is practical and useful. You will not be fluent by the end but you will be able to converse on everyday essential tasks
Great book but, I was upset when I received it. The book was used and had writing in it. There was supposed to be CD's included as well. Nowhere in the discription did it tell me any of this.
An effective learning tool with plenty of scope for consolidation and improvement. It seems that no stone is left unturned to strengthen the basics and clarify difficulties
It arrived fast. And it is a great self study book with explanations in English.
I have bought Teach Yourself Programs before and I love love love this program soooo much! Great deal at a decent price and the software is awesome!
